I definitely understand that, however, I would counter that evolution works in both directions. This fish will have offspring which will continue to pass on the genes it has for pure awesomeness. Evolution is just as much about those organisms which are selected FOR as is it about those that are selected against. If the channel refuses to have both positive examples of evolution as negative, what is to differentiate it from the "fail" channel?

It had fish going in either direction. One of them was going the wrong way. One will reach the spawning ground, one will not, that sounds like evolution in action to me =)
