Oh this is hilarious. Fake or no, they deserve it after the dismal VH1 special they did a couple a years ago.
Hetfield turned into a whiny boy that couldn't work more than 4 hours a day so his feelings wouldn't get hurt. I can't believe how the band put up w/ it.

Casting a bad light on Metallica?... Heck you got my vote. Those guys suck. Saw em in concert, the opening bands should have headlined. Biggest waste of money in my life.

The effect is to juxtapose the seriousness and fame of the performer with a terrible performance to comedic effect. Live footage works much better than videos, as evidenced by the Metallica one which was one of the least well done imo.

I submitted the Steve Vai one a couple of days ago. I think this stuff is brilliant and painfully funny
