I watched this in science class as a kid and loved it. Glad to see it made it to the sift.
schmawyOk, Bernoulli died in the 1780s, so the concept of aerodynamic lift was clearly understood, so why all the flapping wings?

Peoples sure was dumb! Hyuk, hyuk!
It's these amazingly intrepid European Americans, through their bold engineering and imagination, who built the country that became the envy of the world.
The planet owes a great debt to gentlemen and ladies such as these who worked hard and devoted so much to their nation.
SketchOkay, you understand that "Peoples sure was dumb! Hyuk, hyuk!" was parody right? I mean seriously. Do you think I actually speak like that in real life? I mean I know burdturgler doesn't like me for religious purposes, which is fine, I'll take his downvotes, but come on! Relax people. It's just a comment post.

Sorry if my comment was misconstrued, Sketch. It's just that your comment was the last one I read and after being so inspired by the admiration I have for these inventors I didn't think they deserve jest.
(I evened up your comment btw!)
