westylol so stupid just shows u that shit companys win goverment contracts.
i and anny half wit tard could easily design a voting device that was easy to use always worked was as tamper proof as could be and probably cost less than these. why the hell are the buttons so close together why not use a bigger screen + why not have a confermatoin message after the vote so unbelevably shitly designd.
NordlichReiterThe fact that a voter could even possibly foul up the vote with fat fingers is ridiculous. Better design please, even the ATM touch screens are sloppy these days.
12918Just goes to show that electronic voting machines are going to be the beginning of the end of our democracy. How can anyone in this country feel good about an election anymore, especially when the outcome is so close like it has been the last 8 years? Whoever designed these voting machines should be fired and sued. This is absolutely ridiculous.
charliemsays...Parallax error.
They need to tap lower on the screen.
8416says...Welcome to the end. The movie with Robin Williams "Man of the Year" covers this type of scam. Though that is fiction I wouldn't put it past someone to attempt to fix an election.
9058Genius, you vote for McCain accidentally. They casually say "oh just hit it again" and this time its for Obama no problem. You think everything is ok. However what if the machine actually counted both votes. Therefore the votes cancel each other out so that come election day its not about getting more votes for McCain its about negating votes for Obama.
bcglorfsays...I work in IT, and user error will happen no matter what system you have, even one as simple as touch the candidate you want to vote for. That said, it's part of why I don't think electronic voting machines are a good idea.
I know the saying is 'never attribute to malice that which can adequately be explained by incompetence', but when politics are involved I think it's the other way around. This kind of problem should NEVER be allowed to happen, at all.
westyI also work in IT and i belive you can design IT systems that are better than paper systems , yes you will probably always have human error however due to the nature of IT you can reduce this more so than PAper bassed systems.
your bound to presume malice with annyhting that favors mcain due to the amount of liying his party partakes in.
11807says...I say source the display layout to a game company. People who make games KNOW how to make effective and intuitive displays (well, many of them do anyway).
Simply enlarging the candidate buttons and the space between them would solve any accidental selecting unless the machine was seriously uncalibrated.
