deathcowsays...Cool shot of the moving-slit of a focal plane shutter. The entire sensor is never exposed, only a moving open window to it. At higher shutter speeds, the window is made more narrow. This is a challenge for flash synchronization since an explosive flash event would only illuminate a tiny window on the sensor. Special flash modes have to be used to properly illuminate the sensor.
