Trooper Accidentally Knocks Out DUI Suspect

So the story here goes, is that the State Trooper is now being charged by the Plaintiff (guy who is getting booked for a DUI) because the Trooper apparently used excessive force.

After watching this video I'd have to disagree, and say that the man was not cooperating with the officer. This led to the officer needing to use force to subdue the suspect and unluckily takes him down face first.

Is the man drunk? Right? Wrong? You can be the judge! :D

What is with bad titles??

WHAT IS ACCIDENTAL ABOUT THIS? He slammed his face as hard as you can into pavement.

He might be justified, because we live in fascist country where cops are NEVER held accountable, and have supreme authority to injure people. But this was NOT accidental.

Talk about a complete inability to control adrenaline. I'll say some force may have been necessary, with emphasis on some, but that guy just got flung like a rag doll. He was clearly unprepared for a physic confrontation which just makes it that much clearer how unnecessary that level of force was.

damn that was a good takedown. hard and fast.

and really, stop with the "fascist america" fucking comments already. youre fucking insulting people who have or are currently living under a fascist state you priviledged suburbanite shithead.

youre pissing on the graves of fucking tens of millions of people who have died under the likes of the nazis, mussolini, the iron guard, and the ba'ath party. get a fucking clue

and ya, looked at his mug. its fucking road rash, which is par for the course cuz his face ate pavement. he didnt get a beating dumbass. It just looks bad. theyre fucking surface scabs boo damn hoo. this isnt in any way comparable to say battered wives or something. his "wounds" wont even leave scars and he's got a shiner that will dissipate in like 2 days. he's not a fucking martyr. he's some dumbass who had a bit too much to drink to be driving and then refused to complete an FST and then repeatedly resisted arrest.

do i feel sympathy for the guy? a little. I mean only sick people enjoy the physical injury of another. so ya, sucks that he got slammed like that and subsequently got rashed and ko'd. but for fucks sake the guy is no rodney king

I realize I will probably be flamed for this but... A couple of points:

1) There is one type of person which is the most dangerous you can come across. It is people who suffer from White Knight Syndrome. Most if not all cops suffer from it; they seem to have a pathological need to do "what is right"(tm) no matter the cost for anyone else or themselves. As they have "right" on their side they can do no "evil" (That's what Black Knights and evil people do). That is also why they are the most dangerous people you can come across. All their actions are justified. They are the type who will shoot you with a smile on their lips because they are "vanquishing evil". Living in a black and white world is great... isn't it?

2) The guy is not resisting he is simply talking, as in being a civilized human being and not a barbarian, and therefore there is no justification at all for using violence. Instead of throwing the guy face first into asphalt the cop should have just asked him to sit down. But I guess that doesn't look as cool on those cop shows.

3) I have no respect for people who drink and drive but that is not a good enough reason to physically injure the guy as he is not physically combative. Be polite, tell him to sit down, explain why he is being arrested and then arrest him. Problem solved. Imagine a world where police are not militarized and actually behave like police should and not like mob enforcers. Do as we say or we will bash your face in, taze you, mace you and add resisting arrest to your crimes as you writhe in pain...

But...he did ask him to sit down. It's basically the first thing the cop says in the video. The guy kept refusing and refusing until the cop demonstrated that he intended to arrest him...then all of a sudden, the guy wants to cooperate: surprise, surprise.

The dude even says, "It's really too late?" Yes, dummy. It's called the point of no return and you just crossed it. Whaaaaa!

Jinxsays...

He didn't take the test, he didn't sit down, he didn't turn around and take the cuffs. He might not have been running or struggling but he was still resisting. Ok, so showing him the pavement was maybe a bit excessive but I don't think the cop actually meant to put him down that hard.

Also, lol at the dude above talking about people who can only see in black and white before saying "most if not all cops suffer from it..." IRONY MUCH? You can't judge his character from this video, hell if your going to paint colours on the cop I'll do the same to the perp. You know most, if not all of DUI offenders are also drug dealers, serial rapits and puppy murderers? This kid got off light lolol isnt living in a black and white world great.

^Certain professions attract certain individual types... If you are a pacifist you don't become a soldier, if you suffer from hemophobia you don't become a surgeon... If you are a white knight you tend to go into law enforcement/healthcare/security professions, i.e. where you can do "Good"(tm).

Is this based on some kind of study, or just "things I think seem likely but haven't actually confirmed"?

I know six people who are in law enforcement from local deputies to state highway patrol. One is a badge-heavy bitch who is more than willing to throw her badge around to support her ego. The rest are normal people who hate seeing others get hurt just as much as anyone.

It's very easy to characterize everyone within a profession as sharing an identical mindset when your source of information is internet videos. I thought construction workers were mostly vulgar and uneducated until I took a job building houses for a summer.

The only group I know of that really does fit a stereotype consists of people who use broad generalizations... they're all the same. ;-)
