therealblankmansays...Of all the toys here, the only one I had was Smash-Up-Derby. Good times.
deathcowsays...All I remember is the Water Wiggle and the Slip and Slide. I could watch hours and hours of these.
darksunsays...oh look, rube goldberg for kids!
dotdudesays...I remember most of the ads. “Masterpiece” was the only one I owned.
ypsilonsays...you had some nice toys back then. I think these wind up cars were also available here in germany...
BayAreaGuysays...Okay, we had Bing Bang Boing, and can I just say that we NEVER played with it after the first day? The problem, as you may have guessed, is that Jan and Bobby in the commercial there were only having fun because a friggin' Engineer set it up for them. Those little steel balls fly all over the room if you don't put the drums in JUST the right position. And even if you did, so what? They bounce into a plastic cup, and then what? Nuthin', that's what.
BayAreaGuysays...Oh my gawd! I loved my SSP! I had the Detonator, but broke the T-Stick on the first day. My brother was stingy, and would only loan me his when he was done playing.
I lost my front tooth on a Water Wiggle! And I remember Slip 'n Slide because our yard was less than smooth, and we'd come in the house covered in bruises. We'd be back for more the next day, though!
choggiesays...Damn I am sorry to have missed out on this stream of reminisce. I had most of these, and this reminded me of many more.
Some all-time favs were, KerPlunkk, the Hoppity-Hop, Six-Million Dollar Man action figure, Battling Tops, Worm Wrestle had me transfixed for a short time, damn, it's amazing how many memories an old TV add can stir up.-Synaptic triggers
CrushBugsays...I still have my Smash-up Derby ramps in my house. My son plays with them with his toy cars nowadays. One does have a crack from about 35 years ago when I tried to use one as a ramp for my tricycle.
