Time Lapse Video of Driving Across America

conansays...

I don´t think this is real. The movement speed of the guy steering does not fit the speed of the driving etc. I think they just cut together some footage of different cities etc.

The speed of the driving is because it's time lapsed! You can't go Warp 10 across the country in 4 minutes unless Scotty is next to you yelling "You Can't Push It Any Faster Jim!" Doesn't the passenger look a lot like Brad Pitt's charactor in Fight Club?

Michel Gondry is a real master. About 6 years ago I realized that 3/4th of the music videos I've ever really enjoyed were done by him, and he's kept that percentage the same since.

Sadly, the time lapse factor varies for the duration of the video in order to make it more MTV-friendly. For example, riding through downtown Vegas should have been a frame or two, but it turns out to be a lot longer than that. Also, if you look at the transition between -2:20 and -2:21, you can tell it's cut. Shame because the concept was truly interesting.

I have actually done this exact drive before. Though it wasnt time lapse I was stupid enough to do it without stopping so i made it within 40 hours. I took the time to enjoy myself on the way back
