Things Big Telecom Says

Members of the oligopoly come together to say words.

worked for bell tech support. they have caps already in place on bad credit account holders and new account holders. and when the Telus guys said it has a cap in place already(for roaming) all the other telecom people started back peddling, which wasn't shown. anyone remember when they put martha stewart away for lying. why has that law Never been used since?

out of context was that the cap was for ROAMING CHARGES, which has a delay, sometimes substantial, to when the actual charge is put on the account. but again, all the rates are available online and easy to calculate .
some countries have HUGE charges, so always check! some places is as bad as $10/1mb.

big warning, Pay as you go is not supported on travel, infact pay as you go is barely supported locally and needs some serious loving to trully become a viable option,

contracts are no good, used only as a bribe for the phone, which can be financed now in some 3rd party retailers, but in the eyes of bell canada, not in a contract? barely worth the contact. which means if you arent on a contract, the call centres will have very limited tools to assist you. and will charge up to $25 for reading info to you that you can find in forums and google.

i quit bell not too long ago because of how poorly they treat employees who do well and how blatantly the lies they told us to tell customers where. ugh, hate big telecoms.

$250 a year 1000 anytime minutes with at least 3K in rollover mins, unlim. text, long distance-NO DATA plan (internet, data-file-transfer)-Worse than the phone service is the internet here-Outrageous fees for bullshit connection/speed compared to a lot of the rest of the world.-$69 bucks a month for speeds ranging from 15-35 Mbps-includes cable TV which I seldom use for anything but background noise for the dogs..

The U.S. is getting ass-raped on connectivity to the internet.

Blame corrupt politicians + copper mining/cable providing concerns + peeps not demanding their fucking heads.

3 year contracts? 2 years seems standard here in Australia. Then again I always buy phones outright and go a monthly plan. Not only are you locked into plans, the actual monthly cost deducting the amortized cost of the phone is usually quite bad itself.

2 years in Finland too and no choices, every carrier has it and they are priced almost exactly the same.. Just like a bunch of guys agreeing something in the backroom and miraculously announcing their campaign in sync.. Personally, i buy the cheapest phones there is and have my 12 year old prepaid still going strong. I've estimated that i've saved over 2000€ in the last ten years and that's comparing to the cheapest contract available (around 20€ is the minimum contract price.) Of course that means that i'm the only one in my class that doesn't have a touchscreen as you can't get those without contracts on a students "salary"...
