Video Flagged Dead

The most important battle of the 80s

I do MMA. So yeah, I'm pretty up on sweaty men in tight shorts and nothing else rolling around trying to lay on top of each other.

What I don't get is the fake part. It's just so over the top that I find it hard to be interested.

I dunno, why would a car chase in a movie be entertaining, since it's so over-the-top and you know it isn't real? Not that I watch wrestling, but I can at least understand why ppl enjoy it. Because it's silly and fun.

I'm assuming you mean the movie kind, right? Never really liked those, for the most part. I guess I just find that pro wrestling completely breaks any suspension of disbelief that I try to summon up whenever I encounter one of these shows.

Didn't some famous wrestler get his neck broken a few years ago? I'm pretty sure fans know that it's fake but they keep coming back in the hopes that just maybe something real might happen in the form of an unscripted accident and then their bloodlust is satisfied.

anyways, pro wrestling is terrible and cheesy. But in the 80s, the Hulkster / Andre the Giant (RIP) rivalry was inescapable in the States. And regardless of how one feels about it, it was a very big pop-cultural point in 80s american history, along with Max Headroom, Iran/Contra, New Coke...

This event was claimed by the WWF as setting a reported indoor attendance record of 93,173. It is the largest North American indoor crowd to witness a sporting event. Although this number is sometimes disputed.

I've said it before (somewhere... ) and I'll say it again. Wrestling is a cancer. Wrestling sucks. It's pathetic. Sure they are athletes, but that's not fighting. It's a stylized soap opera.
