Baquetasays...I bet they were saying the same thing back in the dawn of television. Oh, hang on...!
Fedquipsays...Heh... Don't forget to check out Keen's.... Website
Or His interview with youtube rabbits
winkler1says...The very definition of a Modern Major Wanker.
Grimmsays...He does understand that Colbert's show and the character he plays is a goof right?
yoghurtsays...Better yet, check out his 8-part dialogue with Kevin Kelly, Wired editor/founder at large, over at Jewcy.com (http://www.jewcy.com/dialogue/2007-05-29/can_the_internet_be_saved). I think it safe to say he comes off somewhat for the worse, though if you you read it through, at least you'll get a sense of where he is coming from.
HaricotVertsays...He's just bitter that some people on the internet are making more money than he does.
thenebsays...I'd love to see this guy and Richard Stallman in a room.
It seems this guy is just supporting fox views and companies like AT&T and how they stand on net neutrality. His last main point which draws on creditable journalism is completely unfounded, there exists sites with objective news such as the BBC.
Nebosukesays...His last point is completely off base. I would wager that more main stream news media (including the journalists) are in the pockets of big business than any of the popular blogs.
chilaxesays...He's wrong; there were many more influential bloggers criticizing the plans for Iraq than there were members of the mainstream media (in the US at least).
calvadossays..."Is that English for love?" ahahaha.
Spoon_Gougesays...I often wonder if guests agree to do his interview knowing it's bullshit/entertainment or they come on with the intent of swaying Steve and the audience/show. I was thinking it the beginning that he thought it was serious but towards the end, it looked like he knew it was bull.
mechadeathsays...It's simple supply and demand at work. The only reason bloggers have become so influential is exactly because the reporters and media have failed to be responsible, not the other way around. If people had "traditional access" to better reporting, art, and entertainment, then they wouldn't need the internet's "inferior culture". OOPS
xxovercastxxsays...The internet isn't killing our culture, it's just making it really easy to see how little culture we have.
@Spoon: Colbert talks to his guests before the show and explains that he plays an ignorant, right-wing jackass. There's a video here somewhere that shows him having the conversation with John Kerry before his appearance.
viewer_999says...Holy cow, what a friggin short-sighted dufus (with an obvious helping of jealousy thrown in for measure). Quick, someone e-bookify and P2P his worthless scribblings (even though no one will want to read it) just to wash away any earning potential.
bamdrewsays...Exciting times we live in! Hope everyone is enjoying themselves!
@Spoon; Colbert tells all interview guests that he plays a character, and describes the character as a man proud of his ignorance.
w0mbatsays...It may be killing "his" culture, but it is enabling "ours". Out with the old, in with the new.
