Not an olympic event, but the freediving event Constant Ballast No Fins is one of the most compelling events I've ever witnessed. Not much a spectator sport, but doing safety for the athletes is a good vantage to watch the event from. It's generally done in the ocean, but a pool like this is a good place to train for such an event.

Crushbug, that's cause the pressure inside your sinuses become far less than the ambient pressure. To fix that, all you do is pinch your nose and gently exhale through it to direct the air into the sinuses. This equalizes pressure eliminating squeeze. You can try it now, but careful not to do it forcefully. You'll feel your ears gently "pop" when done right.
I definitely want to dive that pool. Clean water and unlimited viz is nice to have. Too bad there's nothing to play with though. When it comes to indoor diving, nothing beats going in an aquarium and waving at the people on the other side of the glass, posing for pictures =D
Memoraresays...yah, basically gently blow your nose to clear your ears.
My certification dive was 100 ft on a wreck in Florida. Down, down, down into the inky blackness.
The video looks like it should be a level in Half Life 2 or Portal.

I'll practice the breaststroke standing up or laying down, it's really up to her.
