Texas for Obama

Texas is crucial. Allow me to be partisan in getting this out there.

been there, during basic training at nearby Lackland AFB.
cool city. you get one day of liberty, at the end, to go hang out in town.

saw a couple shots of the Alamo, itself, too. it's actually an amazingly small fort. and yes, i even got to see the basement.

I'm an Obama supporter, and as an Obama supporter I beg people not to pretend he has a chance in Texas. He's going to lose by 20 points -- it's important that people understand this so Hil can't turn it into some kind of "comeback" victory when she wins a state she's had a double-digit lead in for the entire race. Same with Ohio, only probably worse. The "firewall" bullshit will only work if we let it.

why does he have to put a preacher sound on the end of everything he says when he's speaking to these people, are they really that faith driven. faith schmaith, that woman talking about it too, that kind of thing really shouldn't be in politics.

I don't think I would have ever made a connection between "friendly" and "Texas". I'm not saying it's not true; I've never been there so I don't know; just that I wouldn't put the two together.

The woman who says we've got to combine faith and politics... I died a little inside when she said that. Constitutionality aside, the combination of religion and politics can only lead to the tarnishing of both.

Obama doesn't need to win Texas, or even come especially close. Texas is proportional rather than all or nothing and anything within maybe 10% could be considered good news for his campaign and keep him ahead in the overall delegate count. Rasmussen aside many other recent polls show him close enough to score a big delegate win there.

There's a path for him to lose the popular vote in Texas but still win more delegates there due to the way the State works. Can read about that here. http://www.burntorangereport.com/showDiary.do?diaryId=4972

Texas is being played the wrong way in the news. It isn't win or lose for either so much as it is by how much they win or lose. If it's close that's an Obama win.

I don't support him. I'm a cynical bastard and I've heard these everything's gonna be wonderful speeches before-- right out of the mouth of Ronald Reagan for one. He doesn't state a single thing that says anything definete about what he plans to do. Nothing you will one day be able to point back at and say "you lied". I don't trust him. I'm voting for Hillary.

And it looks like that's exactly what happened, only NPR is reporting it so far but maybe the rest will catch on eventually. Clinton won the primary in Texas by a close margin, Obama the caucus by a wider margin, net total looks to be a three delegate win for Obama. Clinton may have won the primary but Obama won the State overall with the caucus included. That's why they call the election here the Texas two step but so far the media has just noticed the first part.
