Something went terribly wrong with this ship's controls

The motor yacht "Go" in Saint Martin had a very bad day. Seems like from this ship tracking site, she was having control problems for a while--and they persisted until she came to a stop after slicing through fiberglass, aluminum, part of her bow--and then a concrete pier.

at 3:28 on the right hand side of the screen, the ship's track prior to slamming into the dock is posted. Clearly, they were having major control problems.

No current idea what the control failure was. Lucky no one got hurt.

When that metal portion of the ladder going from the pier into the water, starts scratching the side of the ship, it was hard to watch. Such a beautiful vessel in such a beautiful color.

I'm less shocked by the accident than the ship itself. Look at that thing! Anyone know a ballpark pricetag?

Edit: Found a site mentioning it, but it has no price listing. Similar yachts are in the $65M+ range. What the hell planet am I from.

For the comedy effect, something went terribly right.

When I first saw all those people without health insurance crashing into the dock I was horrified. But then as the concrete ripped through the hull of thousands of people working for an unlivable minimum wage, I felt a little bit of satisfaction. Anyway, you can be sure that monument to forced overtime without compensation is insured and if there are any remaining costs, they can be covered by suspending pay raises and bonuses for another year.
