Securing a suicide bomber, Iraq

21 August, 2016- Security forces successfully halt a teenaged suicide bomber in Kirkuk, Iraq, and remove the threat of explosion. This is what successfully stopping a terrorist act looks like. He was targeting the Jaafar Sadiq Shia shrine in the Wasit neighborhood. More info here:

You're happy that they get the bomb off, but are terrified for the kid. He's probably been taught nothing but hate for most of his short life, you hope he finds some quality of life and some sort of peace. But he's probably the same age of many of the fighter ISIS throws out on the battlefield with little or no regard for their lives. Hell I don't think the kids themselves have any value for their own lives. They've been fed so much crap from their "enlightened teachers".

My heart instantly broke the second I was able to see how young this kid was.
I hope his cries were for his mother. Just to go home and be with her.
Man, I wish there was some kind of campaign to show these kids that there is so much to live for beyond their "sacrifices".

I agree with these sentiments. I was motivated to post this as I fear that were this to occur in the US, he would be shot dead without hesitation. At least I can hope that he will truly get the help he needs.

I really wish I could understand what he says. He at least assisted them in stepping out of the vest, and I wonder how committed he really was. Worse yet, was he threatened somehow into such an act?
