Alaskan politician Joe Miller uploaded this video to Youtube with the following caption:
In this extraordinary video filmed by my friend Dusty Harpole while he was out adventuring with Dave Keller this past week in Tutka Bay, Alaska, a mother otter avoids getting eaten by a group of killer whales by jumping on the back of Charlie Largent's small boat that was in the area. Unfortunately, she lost her baby in the daring escape. Other HD footage is available.
Warning: the ending may cause tears.

Unfortunately, the boat was on an otter-hunting excursion and she was later slaughtered by a family of Inuits.

Ya, it's all ohhs and ahhs, then the screaming starts. Seriously, they are called killer whales for a reason, they will eat your face if they think it looks sealy enough.

Great, these stupid humans have disturbed the natural order. When the last whale dies at the hands/flippers/fuzzy appendages of the genocidal otter horde we'll have only ourselves to blame.
