Sarah Palin: It's Not Her Fault

A different perspective from CNN's Campbell Brown.
theaceofclubzsays...

She missed the point. People aren't attacking Palin cause they are vindictive, its because she is the cancer that is killing the Republican party. The sooner she is dispatched from the national scene the better it is for the party.

Does CNN have a "Cutting through the 'Cutting Through the Bull' Bull" bit?

Cuz I feel we deserved answers about Sarah Palin, and if McCain's group wants to share insights as to (not only why they lied but also) what happened, I'm all ears. Towels, clothes budget, non-knowledge of Africa the continent and all.

> how the hell you think you deserve an answer... ?

Yeah we wouldn't want to have an accurate picture of the party and people who are going to try and take over the country again in 4 years. After all, it's their country, not ours, right?

I didn't vote for Obama, but he redefined the way a campaign should be run in the 21st century. And that has had to be so frustrating to the McCain aides who just didn't "get it". McCain's inability to relate to the voters was why he couldn't recover from the economic crisis (he was up in the polls until it happened) and Barack Obama and his aides knew how to push all the right buttons. His aides were clearly more qualified than McCain's and everyone in the political sector saw that.

However, now that the election is over, whichever McCain aides leaked all of this are looking to:
a) find a scapegoat, like Campbell Brown said. It would be of utter betrayal and career suicide to speak badly of McCain. And they would never indict themselves.
or
b) Someone is creating the premise for a future book deal. America loves gossip and drama.

No matter which way you look at it, the fact that the aide/s remain anonymous raises red flags on the validity of the issue. Sadly enough, there will be those who will believe the speculation no matter what. Those people are inherently unfair and would like to see her political career go down in flames. There's nothing anyone can do about that but encourage them to attempt, without bias, to see both sides.

I didn't side with Obama, but I've always been fair in assessing him as a candidate. It's unfortunate that isn't the status quo in a now presumptuous and all too assuming America.

I like Campbell Brown and I believe she has a point here, particularly about the name-calling. However, I have a problem with this viewpoint as it is again hitting only one side of the issue.

This is what maddens me most about the media coverage of Sarah Palin. She is now being portrayed as either the rogue wildcat or the victim, and while I'm by no means a fan of Palin, I feel that she is probably a bit more complex then either of these extreme images suggest.

While this seems to be true of the party, I'm forced to wonder what is better for the nation.

I would like to see the Republicans line up behind Palin and follow her into irrelevance. Then maybe we can get a real and coherent opposition party.

wait, the media is pointing out that Republicans tried to sell us a load of crap, then lied, accused, and distanced themselves from that load of crap when it went all wrong?

where was this media in the lead up to the iraq invasion?
damn, Obama gave the media their spine back.

When a person utterly fails at his/her job, that person and the people who hired him/her are held accountable and sometimes held up as examples of what not to do. Palin doesn't get a free pass.
