9980says...Thanks for posting. Everyone should see this.
Fjnbksays...It's an absolutely devastating article.
Xaxsays...Great post. It's a shame that few people will ever see or hear about this information.
This should be blatantly obvious to everyone after his pick of Sarah Palin. Country First my ass.
Trancecoachsays...oh hell yes.
winkler1says...Rule of thumb: Avoid candidates named "Jr." or "III".
dooglesays..."[McCain] puts himself first in blinking neon lights."
McCain wants to be the first to blink neon lights? I dungeddit.
rgroom1says...What scrutiny has obama had?
ever since he won his candidacy, every report of him has built golden statues. The only people who would trash obama are fox and talk radio, a hell of a lot less than the people who hear McCain being trashed.
Seriously, this guy is saying that the media coverage of the race is unfair to OBAMA?!???!??

Except for the fact that Rolling Stone is the source. As a result, what undecided voter will actually be swayed? I can't remember the last time Rolling Stone was relevant.
spoco2says...That was superb.
He and his campaign has put forth all these 'things' about him... and they'll all shit.
Excellent.
brycewi19says...Can this be shortened down now to a 30-40 second commercial and be put on prime time TV?
'Cause that would rock.

The word Obama is not even mentioned in this video...
epic fail!
8960says...I still get Rolling Stone (b/c they keep sending it) and I read part (I can't stand the author anymore) of the article the myth sidebar is embedded in. It's written by Matt Taibbi, the most sarcastic, hateful sob ever. I can't imagine his article would do anything to sway an undecided voter. Constantly referring to Americans as fat incurious fools wiping their Dorito-stained fingers on their shirts doesn't exactly make the average person want to listen to your message.
ponceleonsays...I will continue to quote Chris Rock:
Vote for the guy with one house.
budzossays...haha, when did Rock say that?
Januarisays...The argument i love about this... and that McCain supporters always seem to come back with...
It isn't to deny ANY OF IT... not a word... even some who accept it as 100% fact...
"Well... what about Obama... how much do we know about him... ( must be a muslim terrorist... black guy... hates amercia... etc.... ) The argument seems to be more of a... Well yeah... McCain is a total shit... but he is still somehow better than what Obama MIGHT be...
RedSkysays...Their music reviews may be hogwash, but this was quite in-depth.
quantumushroomsays...Rolling Stone(d): yet another in a long, long line of ultra-liberal publications posing as an objective news source. Kind of like MSDNC, ABC, NBC and CNN, only in paper form.
The only people who would trash obama are fox and talk radio, a hell of a lot less than the people who hear McCain being trashed.
I wouldn't go so far to say Fox and Conservative talk radio ever "trashed" Obama, rgroom1.
They've simply reported on Obama's ultra-liberal voting record, his TWO self-serving autobiographies, his suspicious, detestable circle of f(r)iends like "Rev" Wright, Ayers and Rezko, his lack of experience (so McCain has the big ego...how 'bout the hubris of believing you're Presidential material after 143 do-nothing days in the Senate)?

On "EPIC FAIL":
"vetting the wrong candidate....." not correctly heard, I'm sorry, i'm at work.
Also, my comment is still true, minus what's his name SAYING that obama is unjustly covered.
What happens when McCain screws up? It's online in seconds, amusing half (or apparently 48%) of the public with their heads in their asses.
If Obama, say, runs to Iraq, attempts a deal concerning troop removal with the fm, vis a vis http://www.nypost.com/seven/09152008/postopinion/opedcolumnists/obama_tried_to_stall_gis_iraq_withdrawal_129150.htm ,
it's called "right wing propaganda" and should be promptly ignored.
Januarisays...Thats kind of a funny link... given the mass of comments behind it...
So I understand you correctly... there it is 'TRUTH' and a true free flowing of ideas... but here because people tend to lean the other way... It's lies... and propoganda...
This is the kind of hypocrisy that just kills me... and it's largely that... and or current president that made it impossible for me to take McCain or the Republicans seriously.

-and it's this sort of dismissal of any kind of contrary opinion that makes me believe your head is deeeeeeep in your ass.
if you want a civilized argument, return my points with points. don't fucking condescend me by labeling me stupid (which is how i am choosing to take this^)
MY POINT:
I will find you're "right wing propaganda " and post it. I'll even send you the link. It will be shot down as such, and "promptly ignored."
P.S.
I voted Ron Paul
I'm voting Barr
I HAVE THE ABILITY AND RIGHT TO CALL IT AS I SEE IT
what would be a credible source, if not nyp? nyt? ajc? cst?
Januarisays...A civilized and adult argument?... You mean like one where I am not telling you your head is up your 'ass'... ( I think that seemed to be one of your 'points' )and swearing away because we don't agree?...
Thank you for proving my point on the hypocrisy... i really couldn't have put it any better.

Thank you,
now this is an argument
-swearing is unnecessary
-insult is unnecessary
For these, I apologize
Do you deny that Democrats and Republicans live in two separate worlds with different facts, different realities, different logical process, and general disdain for each other?
to quote myself (http://www.videosift.com/video/The-McCain-Palin-Mob)
The truth is, YOU DON'T KNOW THE TRUTH. You are fed the same amount of horse**** as the rest of us. The only people who really know what's going on are the people who create said malarkey in the form of "news".
Now, you can choose to believe or disbelieve an interview (unfortunately not youtube-d) with the Iraqi Foreign Minister. I choose to think that if there was false statement in this article, it would be promptly removed for LIBEL (harmful statement in a fixed medium, especially writing but also a picture, sign, or electronic broadcast). Coincidentally, it has not, nor has there been mention of a lawsuit. This is evidence to me that it is not libel, therefore is not false.
As for your "given the mass of comments behind it":
There are 25 comments on this video, as of now on videosift.
There are 21 comments on this video, as of now on Youtube.
According to this logical process, when this video recieves 700 comments on youtube, it will cease to have any significance?
p.s.
We love a good fiery comment thread, but sometimes they go overboard. Please avoid personal attacks. It's okay to criticize ideas but refrain personal insults. Please avoid blatantly racist speech, threats, or other verbal abuse. This goes for comments in public arenas as well as private member profile comments. If a comment is bad enough it will probably be deleted due to negative feedback. If these types of comments are regular occurrences, we will probably ask you to leave the community.

Don't downvote unless you feel i have violated the above.
If you feel i have not, but still feel the need to down vote, then you are, in practice, censoring my opinion. Since I submit to <a rel="nofollow" href='http://www.videosift.com/video/The-Philosophy-of-Liberty-aka-Libertarianism-made-easy' title=''>this school of thought, that doesn't fly.
rgroom1says...and the html i pirated is not working.
sigh
Januarisays...Well thank you for the apology no it did not offend me... but as you suggested there was no call for it...
I would remind you that at no point did i personally criticize or insult you... as you yourself said... YOU chose to take it that way... I have very little control over how you chose to take something... but at no point did i call you stupid, nor did i intend to infer it.
My point was... that you are yourself practicing what you are preaching against... As i stated above... neither you or anyone for that matter are disputing the points of this article... Just dismissing it as liberal biased... To me... that seems to be the same logic your railing against...
Also... by your own argument of... if it weren't true... they'd be liable... does that not apply here as well? (I don't agree with that...but proving a point) By your own argument... how can you dismiss this... as liberal biased... but accept carte blanche the article you posted...
The comments i was referring to by the way were not those here... but in the article... you can clearly see the readership there is heavily against Obama... and it just struck me as a little ironic... that you were presenting it somehow as 'more' valid...
And that is what i find hard to accept... At no point did i dismiss the contents of the article... but you assume I and anyone here would...

The truth is, I DON'T KNOW THE TRUTH. I am fed the same amount of horse**** as the rest of us. The only people who really know what's going on are the people who create said malarkey in the form of "news".
I do not claim to know the truth. I am stating my reasoning for why I am willing to suspend my disbelief.
and, i also was referring to the comments in the article
i was correlating your premise("Thats kind of a funny link... given the mass of comments behind it..") that an article that is responded to by a number of conservative readers(^) is just as valid as a video responded to by a number of liberal readers.
I normally will distance myself, but the site that i've grown to....love? has become safe haven for some kinds of bashing, and a public forum for chastising those who would do otherwise.
and, i never said any of this is not true. I know that at least some of it is fact, just from reading the wikipedia for mr. mccain.
Januarisays...OK well I'm you've really stepped back from what i took issue with... still.
I don't see anyone claiming to have some kind of inside defacto knowledge about either candidate... but if what you meant was... no one knows for sure... than it would have been better to phrase it that way... as i think most everyone here would agree.
But assuming YOU know... what everyone else does and does not, in my mind is not a valid argument... I don't see anyone doing anything but stating their opinions... as is there right.
Much as they are on the site you posted... clearly... anti-obama (which at this point seems to be as close to pro-mccain as anything) is very well received there... and that's likely why they are posting and reading what they are there.
I never dismissed it... I read it... and, no i don't give that editorial a lot of credence... for one... i haven't heard that anywhere else... and another... an Iraqi foreign minister... what you think they don't play ball over there?... or somehow they are more honest than our politic ans...? And yes... much as i recognize RS is a liberal source... I defiantly recognize yours as a source from the 'other side'...
You yourself said most of the points in this RS article were accurate... and really that's all I see people saying... and that it gives them a lower opinion of McCain.
What i took issue with was you were effectively dismissing this as 'liberal' biased (or appeared to be in my eyes) while with your other hand scolding everyone here for doing the same to press unfriendly to Obama. That to me would have been hypocritical... you've sense come back from that and i agree... the truth is.. it's extremely difficult to know different than what we are told through the media... but i don't think anyone would disagree with that... and in effect if that's your argument... there really isn't one.
