blankfistsays...Take your rights and shove them up your ass, America.
MrFisksays...*controversy
siftbotsays...Adding video to channels (Controversy) - requested by MrFisk.
NobleOnesays...Well they have to have a small test before they take it nation wide start small work your way up.... Welcome to the United Snakes of America...
TheFreaksays...OMG, It's a conspiracy you guys! This isn't just a well meaning but somewhat misguided elected official. It's the beginning of Obama's Communist rule. Next will be the Americorp volunteers marching through your town looking for park benches to paint and when that happens you know what comes next! Yeah that's right, forced 240th trimester abortions! OMG! Somebody call Glen Beck to saaaaaaave us!
GeeSussFreeKsays...A few bad apples spoil the bunch my friend. I find your lack of concern troubling.
TheFreaksays...Not at all. I think this Mayor is confused and he's about to learn an important lesson.
Still, I find it amusing that the first responses to the video seem to indicate some people believe there's a conspiracy at work here.
I'm guessing that Mayor Jose Torres is not a member of the Tri-Lateral Commission and he's not an agent of the coming Obama Totalitarian Regime (tm). Let's try to be reasonable. I join you in condemning his plan but trying to frame it as an indication of larger, more ominous mechinations is disingenuous.
GeeSussFreeKsays...I don't think anyone is talking about men in rooms making up plans for the world, but what you have is more and more people moving into positions of power willing to sacrifice rights for some other gain. Being part of some more insidious plan or not is irrelevant, only the fact that such things are becoming more predominate on all levels of government.
chilaxesays...This is an absolutely unbearable violation of New Jerseyians' rights. Next they're going be rounding up the Jews!
GeeSussFreeKsays...hahaha while it is most likely not going that far, it is a step in that direction chil
jdbatessays...People have been guilty until proven innocent for a long time, in america, Look at the media, your considered guilty almost by default. Laws are going the wrong way in america. Part of the problem as well is, no one wants to take responsiblity or get involved in fighting crime. Maybe this city needs it maybe it doesn't. If the city passes it then thats what that city wants.
longdesays...I can't imagine people voting to give themselves a curfew; but then I didn't imagine people voting for Bush against a war hero when his lies had been exposed and his glorious military record came to light.
GeeSussFreeKsays...Hitler was also voted into power. People aren't always smart about the choices they make, even ones pertaining to very fragile things. Democracy without bound tends towards these types of things; netrunners general welfare in action.
rottenseedsays...Of course you won't have any crime...everybody is going to leave.
GeeSussFreeKsays...hahaha ya, it's the shoot the hostage art of criminal justice.
direpicklesays...I notice that even when there is a legitimate point being made, Fox News insists on exaggeration and lies. Sigh. Can we get someone else to cover this?
GeeSussFreeKsays...lies? They had 2 people on either side of the issue, and he didn't let either one take any softballs.
thetravisnewtonsays...This video makes my blood boil for many reasons, including:
1. An inept correspondant, who was evidently unfamiliar with the proposed curfew.
2. A naive politician, who thinks that treating a city like children might solve problems.
3. A "professor". "Uh, professor... Is this constitutional?" "Probably not." Great answer, Mr. Certainty.
GeeSussFreeKsays...It is before 7am they said, gotta cut them a little slack, I don't even have undies on at that time.
JAPRsays...Some people have to work earlier than 7 am. And going home by midnight? What a retarded idea.
iauisays...I found it interesting that the entire time the mayor is talking half of the frame (which is less than half of the screen space, because of the ticker on the bottom) is taken up by a huge rotating, flashing blue 'news giver' and then when the lawyer is speaking there is no such thing. Just shots of him and wider shots of the interviewer and the mayor. The shot goes from a feeling of claustrophobia during the mayor to being intrinsically open.
Truckchasesays...Honestly, is anyone surprised by this? This country is headed towards freefall....
