antsays...So it took about three minutes to park and another to get out!
swedishfriendsays...my wife parked one time: 1 inch total space if you add up the front and back and she ended up right next to the curb! I thought this kind of parking was pretty standard especially in cities. I have never seen anyone even take notice when drivers have to push against the other cars in order to get in or out.

Imagoaminsays...Sadly, this is pretty common, here... Most people who actually care about their bumpers get those big rubber covers for their front / back bumpers to help prevent damage from all the people doing this.
yellowcsays...My tour guide mentioned this happens a lot in European cities, specifically we were in Paris at the time.
Though I'd hate to think what this does to the transmission and the tread on the tyres, is it really worth it? Buy a scooter or something.
FlowersInHisHairsays...They're called bumpers for a reason.

??? Odd response
redyellowbluesays...bumpers used to be bumpers, now they are just very decorative, highly custom molded pieces are plastic that will break and crack at the slightest impact from a car.
obscenesimiansays...Why the hell would you own a car in NY city?
papplesays...Sorry if my reply seemed harsh, but to be fair, your original comment was pretty odd. Bumpers are designed to crumple upon impact.>> ^FlowersInHisHair:

Oh. I was joking.
braschlosansays...I am not an internet tough guy and I will screw up your car if I come out and find you've touched my bumper. Be warned that not everyone is ok with you putting scratches, no matter how small, on their vehicle.
Usually Ill leave a nice deep gouge on the door handle with a note as to why it happened so that they are reminded every time they get in their car.
Be considerate of others property. If you are late and cant find or pay for parking then your lack of planning is NOT my emergency.
