Obama says NO prosecutions of anyone in Bush administration

No truth commission for Bush abuses.
No prisoner abuse photos.
No elimination of military tribunals.
No end to Bagram Airbase.

On The Rachel Maddow Show, Michael Isikoff reports a secret meeting at the White House today with Obama and AG Eric Holder and human rights activists. Obama announced, emphatically, "There will be NO prosecutions of anyone in the Bush administration" and "No 9/11-type commission either."

"those in power are forever reluctant to relinquish said power, and tend to seek more"
i forgot who said that, but it is succinct in this context.
the very thing i feared most is happening.
there is a cancer growing in my countries governmental checks and balances,
it has taken almost 50 years to become life threatening...
i fear it may be to the point of being inoperable.
the death knell for the experiment that was is drawing near.
this is my greatest fear.

I don't see how anyone could be that surprised at this. It's not like our democracy stopped functioning and then started up again. It's still not functioning. I voted for Obama even though I knew nothing too significant would change, otherwise he wouldn't have been an option. I was hoping he'd be less war nutty than the extreme war criminals around Bush and eventually McCain.

If you want change it takes hard work and constant organizing. Not pushing a button once every 4 years.
