Koranic Scientist Dr. Ahmad Al-Muzain: No Scientific Necessity to Wash Off the Urine of Male Infants. Only the urine of the female infant should be washed.

So they tested one male infant and one female infant and made a conclusion based on that? Wonderful science!

I've always been under the impression urine was pretty clean, maybe not pleasant, but fairly sterile in healthy individuals. The fact they're seeing e.coli in the urine of both babies doesn't say a whole lot for those children's health.

Just so we are clear:

There are pleanty of people including our current president, who claim all sorts of wacky stuff in the name of religion. While I agree that it is fair to poke fun at this idiot, we need to acknowledge that our own country is run by people who believe that they talk directly to God. Not only that, but national polls show that a majority of Americans believe that angels exits and interact with us on a daily basis.

So yeah, this guy nutty, but you don't have to go far to find just as much nuttiness in our own establishment.

Edit: can someone who can speak arabic actually confirm that the subtitles match what is being said?

Guys guyes.... Your´e missing the point! Instead of instantly shrugging offo the ¨Facts¨, i would have expected you to check those supposedly called facts and then talk about it.
For Example,
www.scielosp.org/pdf/rpsp/v6n2/a2.pdf
A very boring article about urinary infection in Brazil - most of the subjects were girls indeed. Why? i don´t have a clue, since the Article is Too boring.

Anyway, the point should be refuting the so called facts (unless its true), and THEN laugh about the whole Islam being the true religion blah blah blah

This highlights an interesting point. - Religion has no place in science.

Why did he feel the need to add that the scientific experiment had religious oversight?

The same reason US fundamentalists feel Christian creationism should be taught in Science classes.

Harmless strains of E Coli are part of the normal, beneficial flora of the human gut, so it seems plausible that they're also present in the normal, beneficial flora of the human vagina.

Harmless strains [of E Coli] are part of the normal flora of the gut, and can benefit their hosts by producing vitamin K2,[3] or by preventing the establishment of pathogenic bacteria within the intestine.[4][5]
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/E_coli

Since a healthy vagina is colonized by a mutually symbiotic flora of microorganisms that protect its host from disease-causing microbes, any attempt to upset this balance [soap, douching, feminine hygiene products] may cause many undesirable outcomes, including but not limited to abnormal discharge and yeast infection. The acidity of a healthy vagina due to lactic acid secreted by symbiotic microorganisms retards the growth of many strains of dangerous microbes. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vagina#Sexual_health_and_hygiene

>> ^Farhad2000:
Ha I love this.
Take one stupid person's opinion and extrapolate it to mean that all Muslim people think this.

The only extrapolation I saw was people commenting that all religion is stupid, which I suppose would cover all Muslims. I guess the title could be taken that way but I thought it was more of a jab at that guys specific line of reasoning. Science found girl's pee is more dirty, Muhammad said that as well therefore that proves Muhammad had divine knowledge.

Science is difficult to do correctly even when not under the supervision of a religious officer, so absent further information, it seems safe to assume their findings aren't significant, and may simply refer to harmless strains of E Coli, which would be meaningless. The danger of drinking urine is generally the dehydrating salt content, not bacteria. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Urophagia#Survival

It does seem plausible, though, that females are more susceptable to urinary tract infections, in which case it would make sense to let female infants sit less in urine-soaked diapers than one would do with male infants (water historically being scarce in the desert).
