newtboysays...Sadly it’s the unshown “monkey gets tangled” part that makes me incapable of upvoting these types of videos, because I know that happens 100 times for every “monkey gets untangled”.
Yes, I like that people go out of their way to help, but I’m far more disturbed that people do this in the first place, whether by negligence or intentionally the results are the same.
Like I said on the recent wolf trap video, people who set up indiscriminate deadly traps like this deserve to be caught in them and left to die in the wilderness. I feel similarly about fishing nets, but multiplied by a thousand or more. The amount of torturous death cause by discarded nets and traps could probably over feed the planet if harvested instead of wasted as bait for the next ghost net victim.
Even properly designed and fished nets average 65% unwanted bycatch, much of which dies before release. Ghost nets are much worse, and never stop fishing.
