siftbotsays...Tags for this video have been changed from 'mouse and keyboardless control' to 'mouse, keyboard, control, hands, mgestyk' - edited by jimnms
westysays...load of wank good for a few aplicatoins but in realty who wants to wave there arms around like a lepper having an epalectic fit just to do stuff on a computer anny prolonged use and u arms r gona be boloxed. it could work if u hands are resting flat on a table and maby it picks up macro finger movments . ore maby u have a camra imbeded in a keybord so u can do small jestures with u typing fingers that might be cool but having a blody webcam infront of you and having to make huge movments is fairly stupid and painfull after awhile
Paybacksays...Looks like it could read American Sign Language. WAY too unresponsive for gaming though. The mouse/keyboard have nothing to fear.
MarineGunrocksays...Yeah, I don't know if I would call it Minority-report like, And while it would be cool as hell to have something that was like the movie, it would be rather impractical.
Fusionautsays...meh, it's a start I guess
13531says...I just think this is a tool for discriminating against people without thumbs.
dooglesays...*cliché for the cliché music
spoco2says...You just got to love all these 'Do away with your mouse and keyboard' types of things.
Issues that are insurmountable for this:
* Writing... people still need to do it... I bet I can type faster than you can scratch letters into the air
* Tiredness. As westy said, you're going to have really tired arms really quickly... you try holding your arms out like that for 5 minutes or more, go on, do it.
* Lag and responsiveness. These videos show some pretty average response time and bad lag
* Remembering/learning the actions. Oh sure, it may become second nature eventually... but come on... this isn't particularly intuitive for actions like, oh, text highlight, copy, paste.
The Wii shows motion controls can be great, but even they have buttons and other control on the motion objects, trying to do everything with your hands and fingers waving about for all but a narrow section of applications is just not efficient.
