siftbotsays...Boosting this quality contribution up in the Hot Listing - declared quality by pumkinandstorm.
newtboysays...The crash looked like the best part to me. I just found myself wanting him to stop for one minute, let go of the brake, and just go full bore to the bottom yelling "NO BRAKES", ramming and then pushing them at full speed. This is a roller coaster, not a sight seeing slide. You are not supposed to stop to look at scenery repeatedly. It completely ruins the ride for those wanting to ride instead of inch down the hill, and it is dangerous for both parties. I would have demanded another free ride or my money back. (then again, I likely would have been thrown out for mangling the sleds and injuring the other rider).
chingalerasays...Dude, the guys a douche: He should have asked the woman in front of him (who wasn't really into the adrenaline rush as much as he was) to trade frikkin' cars with her at the first opportunity-Whip-lashing her from behind when he could have braked....DOUCHEBAAAAAAG!
newtboysays...yes, he could have tried that, except that the woman was with a group of 3 that continuously STOPPED on the track until they see him coming, then repeatedly the one in front (dad?) starts up again, so there's no way he could get in front of the 'jam'. They knew full well they were causing a slow down on a fast ride, and should have known that ruins if for many. Perhaps when they saw he caught them 30 sec into the ride, they could have asked him if he wanted to switch cars with the one in front (and again for the next guy, and the next guy...). Of course, that assumes it's possible to switch cars in mid-ride, which I think is not possible or safe, and also leaves a stopped jam in the middle of the track while they all switch cars over and over, ruining it for MORE people behind. Instead they take off, constantly riding the brake and completely stopping on a fast, blind corner track. Just plain stupid and dangerous. If the ride's too scary for you to ride, stay off it.
It's like the idiots that drive 30 mph on the freeway, thinking they are being safe by going slow. They are doing the opposite, making a dangerous situation, AND interfering with everyone else using the freeway properly as intended. In Houston, they had to implement minimum speed limits, and you get a ticket for blocking traffic if you can't drive near the limit. Now, I don't advocate ramming these people (but it happens daily by accident), but I do advocate removing their license if they can't drive near the speed limit or with the flow of traffic.
The same goes for those who want to do adrenaline filled activities, when they see it's too much for them and they are screwing up everyone elses time, they should remove themselves, not force others to be asshats until they realize their mistake.
I blame the leader of the group here, I hate people that take their kids on things they aren't prepared for and think nothing of screwing it up for everyone else without a second thought and usually with indignance.

newtboysays...Ahhh, I just watched again, they all 3 (4?) stopped suddenly in front of him in a hard turn after going full speed, hitting each other to stop so suddenly. He had absolutely no chance to brake. Now who's the douchebag? Maybe the ones who intentionally stopped short on a high speed course, knowing full well they were being followed at speed by someone already pissed off that they were creeping down and stopping repeatedly?
If you disagree, let me know where you live and what you drive, I want to come cut you off and screech to a stop in front of you on the freeway so you can buy me a new car. ;-}

articianjokingly says...I wish he would point the camera at his face some more.
articiansays...I kind of agree with the douchebag sentiment. The guys attitude was definitely in the line of "asshole", and after he hit the woman the second time and started barreling after them screaming like a maniac and cursing them... He kind of asked for an accident.
The real issue I saw, and I may have to go look at it again at a higher resolution, but did he knock her out from the whiplash for a bit? It looked like she spent a good few meters lolling to the side of her cart. If that's the case, guy is definitely a fucking asshole. Childish irresponsibility without any recompense.
EDIT: yeah after watching it again, during the same stretch where she seems to be unconscious the guy says "Oh shit, she doesn't look so good". Doubt there's any chance of justice from the video though.
newtboysays...The problem with that theory is that she's faking it. If she were knocked out, like she's pretending to be, she would not be holding her brake on and would be ramming the guy ahead of her the rest of the ride, she's not. She's flopping. (soccer term, not the descriptive term) That said, the tactic worked because she fools the rear-ender into backing off and shutting up. When she gets off, she's just fine (but weeping).

articiansays...I thought she was right on the tail of the guy ahead of her. It seemed like she was basically connected to his ride for the duration of it.
I accept I could be wrong. I'm not so suspect of people as that, and definitely didn't have that conclusion. If I were to extrapolate on that line of thinking I would still disagree because I'd expect anyone who would have the gall to do that in the first place wouldn't then get off the ride and walk meekly away knowing that the guy who rammed her that hard (and it was hard, regardless of the effect) was going to be stopping just behind her.
All types of people in this world, so could go either way, but I personally think the assumption she's faking it is absurd. The number of people who are that shitty is pretty low, at least statistically and empirically, and I doubt someone like that would enjoy a nice roller-coaster down a hillside in the first place.

newtboysays...OK, I watched at full res/screen a few more times...they all slow down and stop again shortly after the 'crash' and she's all floppy, then her friends release their brakes but she holds hers a few seconds to give some space between her and the one in front, then she releases her brake, partly. All that time she's flopped over like she's out, but she must have some control or she would still be on the bumper of the guy ahead.
I don't mean to say I think it didn't hurt, just that I didn't think she was completely knocked out when it looked like she was. So I'll retract "faking it" and replace with "exaggerating it".
Also, I don't think she did it on purpose, but she rear ended the guys (apparently her friends) in front of her who had stopped, again.
Admittedly, right after the crash she is on his bumper, but he does not seem concerned in the least and leaves her flopped over, like he knows something. She may have really been out for a few seconds, but I think not as long as she made out. If she is really hurt, isn't her 'friend' still the real douchebag? First for stopping short in front of her without any warning, causing the crash at least in part, and second for not helping his friend when she rear ended him 'unconscious', but instead just riding on?
The guy in back was 'tailgating' a bit, but did not seem to hit her intentionally and had no chance to brake, and may have not had enough time the first time he hit her either. Those brakes are just friction brakes, they don't stop on a dime, especially if you're a full grown man. (agreed, that's a good reason to not tailgate at full speed, so they're all douchebags?)

chingalerasays...Nah see, mindless tourists on their first-go aren't expected to master the thing on a one-time downhill-The guy with the cam has done it a few times perhaps, if not, he's definitely douche.
The girl is visibly distraught and shaken after that whiplash (which can seriously mess someones life up, much less a holiday) and the only saving grace for the douche when he came to stop was to jump out and inquire as to her condition, and that with sincere apologies...You gotta understand, choggie has this particularly sensitive douchebag meter that stays calibrated, with updates to software daily-I only had to watch this once-Upvoted for the thrill of a new experience to write down on the bucket-list, not the cunt filming himself douching-out.
newtboysays...It's not about mastering it, it's about recognizing when you are causing a problem for others. I agreed, he was being douchey, but so was that group that kept stopping to sightsee (or talk, I can't figure out why they stop), even after they know it's an issue. He should have backed off, they should have gotten on with it.
Dude gets extra douche points for not waiting longer at the top, he clearly said he knew they would be going slow.

Dumdeedumsays...I don't care how slow the driver in front of you is going, be it coaster or car, deliberately slamming into the back of them isn't the answer. If you can't deal with some minor frustration like that you shouldn't be driving.
Personally I think she'd have grounds to sue, which would certainly be easier given the genius released the video publicly.
newtboysays...Yes, correct. But was this deliberate?
Should the guy in front of her sue her too? And the guy in front of him? They were all involved.

probiesays...Nope, that guy was a cunt. No respect for his own safety, other's safety, or the ride's property (the cart). His own "fun" took precedence over everything else. If he went screaming down the hill (both literally and figuratively) like that into my daughter, there'd be a whole different ending on that video.
Fuck that douchebag.
sirexsays...meh, the guy is overly angry, but a few of the hits were bound to happen (the heaviest one she's basically stopped dead on the track on a particularly fast section), the girl's not entirely at fault. whoever was leading that group though is an idiot.
It looks bad on the first run through, but after a few more it's not like the guy didn't repeatedly try to give them a head start.
when i was a kid i hit some other kid square in the back in a pitch black section of a water flume (it really was pitch black and it's not like you can stop). He was going so slow the life guards thought they missed him finish the ride. - At the bottom his parents were mad at me like it was my fault, so i can symperthses with the guy a little, some of those hits even slamming the brake on you wouldn't think someone would stop there like that - as its totally unsafe.
that said - he should have backed off once he knew he had a pussy ahead of him, he did after all have a brake.
CreamKsays...Someone should show this video to the alpine resort staff. They seriously need to up the bucket seats and revise their delay timing between units. This should never be allowed to happen in the first place. The persons were in line of sights as he took off and i'm betting that ain't the first time a pussy goes at snail speed if that's the interval.
That being said, a sincere apology were in order, i'll bet he didn't want to ram her that bad, just to give a good nudge to say: "hey, you are dangerously slow!" He did have a certain douche in him, that's for sure, maybe the reason i disliked him from the start. That screaming part, that's what i would've done but after giving the impression of "there's high speed bullet coming, gtfo" just to stop them braking at every turn.. Then would've paused and let some gap form. You have to remember that you can't pause for long or you are the one slowing down the bunch..
All three are at fault here: the resort, the idiot in the front who's delaying 4 buckets and the douche himself.
LucasLandsays...what a born loser. it sucks to have to slow down but to ram he on purpose is bulls hit. you can hear her at the end. she was just a child and she was crying. I wish charges should be brought on him . lets find out who this scum is
jonezwrsays...COME ON GUYS!!! It was funny until I noticed at the end it was a 12 year old little girl...he most defiantly should have gone first!!!
