kennnof course this video isn't going to get any reactions.. you think the 17 year old daily show watching, brainwashed knee jerk liberal video sifters care about fairness? I appreciate the posting of this video, because I voted for Obama, and im from new york city, and i too was celebrating , but in now way is it fair for people to gloat and pretend America is hitting a golden age less than one week after an election.
shuacFrom me, you'll get the same reaction as many other vids of this type: we do not see what happened before the video begins. Clearly, something happened...something more than him just wearing a McCain t-shirt. Not just that.
What was it? Off the top o' my head....maybe the crowd was giving him some shit and he decided to give some back. Yes, it's wrong. But what do you want us to do? In your soppiest of dreams, how would you like us 17 year old, daily show watching, brainwashed, knee jerk liberal videosifters to react? Denounce Obama? Denounce black people? Denounce the police (ok, I may do that one). Seriously, I'm asking.
You think we're not aware of the unfairness of life? Puh-lease.
13653says...see how democracy is LIE
charliemsays...Thats one fucked up crowd right there.
Theres gotta be more to this vid than just his choice of shirt.
redyellowblueI wish a cop would have just said "Hey buddy, you have every right to be here, but for your safety you should leave... look at the crowd. Do you think they really want to put up with your shirt? People are predicable in a situation like this, and I predict you are better off in our cop car, you'll thank me someday"
thinker247Regardless of what happened before the camera was turned on, it bothers me that a large group of people would be shouting "Obama!" to the man. Just after Barack Obama stepped in front of a camera and told the nation that we need to work together, you find this. It's just as bad as McCain's supporters booing Obama when he was mentioned in the concession speech. Anybody heard of poor sportsmanship?
Also, if the cops had a reason to arrest the guy, they wouldn't have let him stand there as long as they did. So I'm thinking that he was pre-emptively arrested, which is bullshit, as much as the Iraq war is bullshit.
volumptuousYeah, we have no idea what happened before this clip starts. This isn't really comparable to the other arrest videos that show up here tho, as noone was tazed and noone knocked off a bicycle.
Then again, I'm just a 17 yr old knee-jerk who watches colbert or whatever.
rougyZero sympathy.
The cons love to stir up shit and play the victim.
If they'd have cracked his skull open, it would be all the same to me.
cheesemooHe probably had just shot somebody. I'm surprised the police were being so nice.
Really though, no idea what's going on here. Yeah he's wearing a McCain shirt, but why was he being arrested?
K0MMIELook at all the trolls this video brought out!
volumptuous^ Trolls?
Meh.
HadouKen24says...I, uh, don't really see what the problem here is. They arrest a guy--we don't know what for--but he's treated okay. He's not roughed up, not tased, just grabbed and arrested.
PsychologicLooks like the guy had been drinking.
Either way, the video starts at a point where the confrontation between this guy and the police had already begun. How is that evidence that the guy hadn't done anything before the camera started recording? Maybe he didn't do anything, or maybe he was being disruptive... the video starts too late to tell either way.
I also love how the guy with the camera was saying "this is what Barack Obama will bring" when they were leading the guy away. Yea, I'm sure Obama was deeply involved in this incident.
HaldaugI also posted this video because I guess it will get its rounds on the conservative blogs; I found it on one. Nice to see it here first...
dbalsdonsays...Maybe he was just arrested for wearing the T-shirt(and also refusing to listen to them when they told him to 'walk away')?
You go to a pub full of Team A's supporters, while wearing Team B's shirt, you're getting your ass kicked( or at the least, get an unfavourable reaction) by someone.
The guy surely knew this, and was there purely for a reaction. Inciting violence, anyone?
The officers did the right, and got him outta there. You hear one of them telling him to walk away, but what does he do? He just stands there arguing.
They then decided that he wasn't gonna leave of his own accord, so forced him to leave. As already mentioned, they were polite the whole time. They probably just took him down the station, told him not to be a stupid prick in the future, and sent him on his way.
Surely everyone knows, if a police officer tells you to do something, within reason, you do it. No point trying to fight your corner, because 99.9% percent of the time, you're going to lose.
dgandhiI thought about posting this, but the edit makes it suspicious. Clearly camera guy was in the middle of this with his camera, but didn't feel like showing us what was going on before.
If this guy got beat or maced I'd be complaining, from the looks of it he was probably driven a few blocks away and told to stop being an idiot, and let go.
The only thing I see here beyond the patently absurd "arrested for t-shirt" argument, is "Oh no look at all those chanting (angry) black people", which is racist. Nobody got hurt here, and we don't even know if this guy was arrested, or just moved.
There is a difference between separating people who are trying to throw down, and attacking and mass arresting peaceful protesters.
Except for the officer who rushes him angrily, who is quickly put in check, the police look to be doing their job.
joedirtLook, this is simple baiting. These two asshats thought they would "expose" Obama supporters by going into a large Obama celebration and wearing a McCain shirt and yelling things start something.
It is no different than Steelers fans or college footballl wearing the wrong school and going into a crowd. Nothing different.
Cops probably broke up a mob situation and pulled him out to KEEP THE PEACE. No matter what you ignorant fools think you know about fairness or the law, this guy could have easily been arrested for (1) disturbing the peace and (2) not obey the officer's commands.
You do not have the right to incite violence or disturb the peace. If your words or actions are enough to incite someone to punch you in the face, then you crossed a line of public exercise of good taste. Yes, you have the right to your opinions and free speech, but not when and where you do these things. In a partying mob is not the place to exercise your anti-Obama sentiments. You do not have right to incite a riot just cause you have a cameraman and are trying a little stunt to prove something.

Which ignorant fools are you talking about? Seems like most of us here agree with you...
