Man Learns To Speak Norwegian In A Single Night!

3 things;

1. I guess Scandinavian Languages are really easy to learn.
2. Norwegian sounds alot like English.
3. May only work for Muslims.

Raaagh is indeed correct. If you bothered to watch this awesome movie. You would have noticed he learns it on his journey to the homeland of the norse people. Which in those days most likely took about a month or more. As in the beginning the Vikings/Norsemen pickup the Arabian man in the desert. GG

Throbbinsays...

If he learned it on the journey, why does the movie make it seem like he learns the language over the course of a single campfire and bout of drinking?

If he learned it on the way to the homeland of the Norse, why does he not understand what they are saying at the campfire? I have seen the movie, and it either very poorly portrays the elapsed time (a month or whatever) - or it wants to make the viewer think he learns it in a single night at a campfire.

TreacleMinesays...

Hmm I'm with Raaagh and Gunter. When I watched the film I never got the impression that he learned it in one evening, but rather over a period of time (notice the fade-ins/fade-outs, changing weather).

Even just watching that clip by itself, I don't get the "learned in 40 seconds" vibe.
