fissionchipssays...Upvote for the surprise ending.
choggiesays...This may have been a natural event, related to monsoons-

9453says...That's really impressive; would like to know more about it. It sure looks like a collapsing seaside excavation, and a dangerous excavation that would be. BTW, what does this have to do with the travel channel, unless you like to travel to exotic natural disaster locations?
snoozedoctorsays...Subsequently, I saw something about this being an abandoned seaside strip mine, if you can imagine that. Apparently, rain (choggie's monsoon) continued the erosion until it connected to the sea.
And we worry about the safety of coal miners. I wonder if all the miners had to wear snorkels and fins, just in case.
Travel channel? It's a stretch. Maybe, as in "don't travel here."
rychansays...Very cool sift. I'd love more info.
bigbikemansays...Wow. Can't say I'd want to be that close filming such an event unless I was in a helicopter.
deathcowsays...Wish I could watch through until the water height was at equilibrium with the other side.

atarasays...Found some info!
Looks like it was the Pantai Remis landslide. You can see the new "manmade" cove in Google Maps.
