This short was shot with the The "MōVI" - a digital 3-axis gyro-stabilized handheld camera gimbal. The completely silent device weighs under 3.5 pounds bare and can be operated solo, or with the help of a second "gimbal" operator with a joystick to pull off some incredible moves.

I have to support anything that gets rid of that shitty, LSD-warping software that most cameras use for image stabilization nowadays. Mini Steadi-Cam FTW.

Very neat stuff. Evidently starts at around $7K which I guess is cheap for steadicam.

Edit: Ok, I don't have 7k, but it's just a gyroscope and a no-tip type assembly, right (like a mini one of those multi-axis spin thingies you can strap yourself into)? Should be easy enough to make something workable.

Edit again: The second video thumbnailed at the end is impressive as well.

I only shoot stills, but that's really cool!
