Louis CK hates the movie Gravity

VoodooVsays...

I do find it interesting how Gravity is the subject of all this criticism. I enjoyed the movie, but yeah, there were many parts of it that were dumb or otherwise wrong.

But at the same time I don't feel any urge to pile on it like so many other people seem to. I think it's a case that the movie was so successful despite the glaring holes that has people so riled up.

I think the same thing happened to Armageddon

I don't see it as piling on...I see it more as a lot of us are fucking tired of this lazy approach Hollywood -always- takes. If you're spending 30-90 million dollars, toss a hundred thousand at some research to get the basic facts right. Especially on a movie that is -about- science and technology.

there are always going to be popcorn films that have huge holes in them. there are movies out there with much bigger plot holes than Gravity, yet don't garner the scrutiny Gravity gets. watch any Honest Trailer or HISHE video to see what I mean.

I don't know what movie you were watching, but Gravity was *not* about science and technology.

It was a movie about a woman who needs to overcome her fear and choose to live even if it means without a harness to something (something like 'loss'). Even in the face of complete isolation, human will needs to choose life as an act of rebellion against fear and sadness. Its beautiful. It is a film and doesn't need to be completely realistic.

I love CK but sorry Gravity was awesome.

Not every movie makes such a big deal about how It's So Realistic, though. When you make that the point of all of your marketing and all of the word of mouth... yeah. You're going to get called on it.

I enjoyed the movie/film too since I just finished watching it. Sure, it is inaccurate, but it was fun to see and hear. Also, it was 1.5 hours long.
