Does s/he have an affinity toward blocking chicken-based legislation. Or maybe just a strong sexual attraction to poultry?

The problem, as always, comes back to basic economic inequality.

In real terms, average household income has been in decline for the past 35 years. As a result of this, most people can't afford to buy decent food.
So they buy fast food and processed crap. Even the staples they do buy, like chicken, have to be way cheaper than they should be to pay the farmer, and treat the birds properly.
