Kevin Smith owning TV reporter Sam Rubin

From August 2001, an "interview" around the time Jay And Silent Bob Strike Back was released.

If only his films were as funny as he is in person, well... his films would be awesome. I really have not enjoyed a Smith film since Dogma, and that was only sporadically funny too.

Clerks 2 had moments.

Zack and Mirri had, like... one or 2 moments

Haven't seen the cop one, and really do not want to.

Hey, the man knows how to make money, he made some awesome films in the day, but now... I dunno... has he lost the inspiration? Is he stuck in a rut? Dunno... pity, because I have this feeling there's at least one more awesome film in him to be made. *Insert joke about him being large enough to fit many films haw haw haw*

Did anybody else catch the comment Sam Rubin makes after Mr. asks Mrs. about wearing her cat suit? She says, "No, no, I don't parade around in it at night." and in the background you hear Sam say, "You should." Hah! He says it so matter of factly. Pure lecherous gold. (:

I love me some Kevin Smith movies. Haven't seen Cop Out yet but appreciate his brand of silly/touching movies for adults. So few films these days feel grown up at all (apart from some smaller art films). Big Up!

Cop out was directed, not written, by him.

Yeah, I know, but he still chose to direct it, he read the script, he set the tone via his direction. And while I haven't seen it, the trailers speak to it being low rent crap, and the reviews seem to concur.

Deanosays...

Never seen a Smith movie but he seems to be a funny, smart guy. What's weird is that he looks like a thin guy in a fat suit. Or he's not properly fat - or something. I don't know what I'm saying.
