bamdrewsays...I'm with Karl on this one.
The brain is like a muscle... good for it to stretch and overcome and discover things here and there,... not good to follow the same route and routine day after day, avoiding problems and experiences.

Yeah. Considering your own mind is really the most important part of your existence, developing and expanding it would seem to be pretty goddamn important. I don't think that means we need to surrender every convenience and go all Spartan on ourselves but people, in general, will strongly prefer the easiest option, which seems really unhealthy in the long run.
kymbossays...I have tried watching these a dozen times. Each time I just see two guys bullying someone who doesn't appear to be bothered by it.

Yeah, I do love Gervais and Merchant, but these have always seemed unnecessarily cruel, and I get shirty with them when Karl is actually making a good point.

Karl loves them, and they love karl. Karl's made millions out of these podcasts and the tv show - trust me, he knows what's going on, they originally gave him the courage to speak his mind (the cause of all the hilarity) before all of this.
This is one of my favourite bits of all the XFM shows, podcasts, etc.
offsetSammysays...Aww come on, putting each other down is a staple of British comedy. It's all in good fun.

Zifnabsays...*nsfw
siftbotsays...Video is already flagged NSFW - ignoring nsfw request by Zifnab.
Aniatariosays...I was tempted to look up Karl Pilkington after watching this, just so I might discover what he looks like in RL. Then I decided not too, he's far more entertaining as a cartoon.

He looks exactly the same.
Head like a fucking orange.
GeeSussFreeKsays...I dunno about the brain development caused from doing 2 plus 2 all day. Expanding your mind isn't XP grinding. I do think that they both miss a good point on the road less travled that Karl was talking about. But living a life style of always fretting the little things is backwards, not progressive.
It reminds me of a talk I had with my roomie on what makes a good coder. A good coder is lazy. Meaning he doesn't want to waste his time doing trivial interactions with his machine to accomplish his goal. Trivial interactions do not expand the mind. But taking an alternate path not recommended to you by some program isn't so trivial as to be mocked.
siftbotsays...Tags for this video have been changed from 'ricky gervais show, stephen merchant, karl pilkington, sat nav, lost, diversion' to 'ricky gervais show, stephen merchant, karl pilkington, sat nav, gps, lost, diversion' - edited by calvados
MaxWildersays...I think Karl enjoys day to day life more. As evidenced in this viddy.
