Japanese toilet training video

HorsSujetsays...

A lot of japanese words have english roots like that, Thwarted. I remember reading somewhere that the japanese word for "underground" (as in underground metro trains" is something like "Andaguraundo".

Comment hidden because you are ignoring dag.(show it anyway)

The Japanese word for toilet is "toire" pants (trousers) are "zubon" underpants are "pantsu".

Japanese has a special alphabet just for foreign words called katakana. They have no problem adopting foreign words and incorporating them into Japanese using katakana.

It's funny though, they use katakana for all Western languages, so while knowing that the word is foreign, they often assume it's English wrongly, and use it when speaking English.

I remember that happened when a Japanese person asked me to fill out an "anket", which I think is German for "survey"? Also, the Japanese word for part-time job is "arubaito" which might also be German. Bread is "Pan" (Spanish, Portugese).

Gaposays...

Anket is not a german word and I can't think of a word which might be like "anket"...
On the other hand, arubaito is like the german word "arbeit" which can be used simply as "work", "job" or even "part-time job"
I didn't know that but it's very fascinating.

The floating poo looked a lot like Mr. Hanky.
I couldn't help notice how the boy is straining to do a poo, and how this is not a good habit to promote. I mean if it's that hard, the person needs some fibre or something, right? Maybe this is typical for many Japanese, because I remember when I lived in Japan all my female friends were always comlaining of being constipated. I thought at the time it was a diet thing, because virtually nobody eats wholewheat bread, or brown rice there, and veges are usually well-cooked or pickled, not much raw stuff. I bet one day when Japanese health authorities cotton onto this problem, there'll be a new video for toilet habits which shows non-fibre eaters straining away, and big fibre eaters pooing happily. Japanese never miss the opportunity to explore a poo topic in the cutest, if not graphic way possible.
