Incredible game-winning, 15 lateral score for a TD

It's Cal/Stanford all over again, but without the band. Unbelievable last play of (Division III) SCAC title game between Trinity University and Millsaps College in Jackson, Mississippi on Saturday, October 27, 2007. Play began with 0:02 remaining in the game ... Trinity players used a total of 15 laterals (FIFTEEN!) to take the ball 61 yards for the game-winning TD.

mmmh.

if that's "the most amazing whatever", then football have some problems, lol.

yeah, of course division 3 and all, but on rugby that's usual, and better.

still surprised to see that third division had someone filming it, if lame.

But this isn't rugby, so what's your point? If they kicked the ball around between each other for a minute before sending it through the uprights for a field goal, would you say that's usual for soccer? Do you think a pitcher throwing a 100mph fastball is uninteresting because tennis player serve for 140? Because your complaint is just as baseless.

Three big differences come to mind. In Rugby, the tackler has to attempt to wrap his arms around the player he is tackling and has to avoid the head, so you can't usually just demolish someone. An offensive player will often have a chance to pass the ball off while being pulled down. Furthermore, once someone is tackled in Rugby (knee down, etc) the play can continue if they get rid of the ball soon enough. And probably the biggest difference, there is no blocking in Rugby, so you know that your offensive support will be available to catch your passes. In football the defensive players can block out all of the offensive players.
