Immigration Policies in the U.S. Need to Change

A 24 year old woman was sold to traffickers in China at age 14 and might be deported from the U.S. after building a life here for a decade after being saved; despite being married to a U.S. veteran.

MY ex girlfriend was deported. I still love her but it doesn't matter. As a 24 year old college student she was somehow a threat to national security and they put her into jail. I had to pay $10,000 (my entire savings at the time) to get her out and there was nothing we could do to stop it.

Trust me when I say the only way to stay in this country is to game the system. The honest people all get kicked out. I know a few people who have been able to stay and the shady (borderline illegal) things they had to do was mind boggling.
In other words only those willing to break the rules are allowed to stay. Anyone with a decent set of morals gets stepped on.

braschlosan is correct~Working within a system designed to control and limit the comings and goings of the unprivileged (everyone except those who write the playbook) often necessitates civil and uncivil disobedience when sanity and justice are concerned. One's personal morality or ethics will always be challenged when faced with the economy of the machine~Don't sweat it. Righteous livelihood and the "golden rule" will always served one well for at the end of the day the only compromise that need be made falls to someone who has no inner strength or purpose they may call their own.

Sad to hear of the dilemma you face with your sweetheart

Did anyone else notice that this report was from May 31st, and Obama's new immigration policy announced June 15th should allow her to stay in the country? Not a moment too soon. She's a perfect poster child for the reform that congress refused to enact, but the president ordered regardless.

EDIT: Seems there was a happy conclusion that came right before Obama's announcement.

I wonder if she could ever be considered for "right of asylum" considering what she is going through. It's very easy to me, with the Chinese connection (not only the laws, but the slavers too) to the whole, "...we don't want girls born here...", dilemma in the populace due too political laws enacted there--I mean just listen to her Father (just call back and get him documented) let alone the documented death threats that have been made against her. It seems like any decent lawyer could try to justify this as a political matter rather than just a sex-trade/slave-trade one. But I'm SURE their there are idiotic politicians willing to jump in front of a bus and tell them that there is no way it will be considered under the "right of asylum" act, because they aren't a nuclear scientist coming from Iran. Pathetic.

No matter the case this is obviously a case of leniency and JUSTICE. But, when is the last time you've TRULY seen justice being handed out on a daily basis--right now we are lucky if we win just ONE victory every so often--call me jaded.
