Books that thin can be ripped without the "trick", if you have enough grip strength.

I tried this just now...and failed. I hurt my hands...lol

EDIT: I was using double the thickness of the books in this video...I did just rip half of a phone book that was about the same size as the one he rips in the video.
(IT IS POSSIBLE FOR WEAKLINGS LIKE ME!)

Isn't the trick usually done by grabbing the spine, not the top or bottom pagess?
