How the Moon Rotates Around Earth

This seems very basic but is actually very enlightening. I guess I've always had a vague notion about how the moon and its shadow works, but not the crystal clear picture this video paints.

YouTube Description:

Why does the same side of the Moon always face the Earth? The Moon has synchronous rotation: it's rotation period is the same as its period of revolution.

The Sun and the Moon are also the same apparent size in the sky because the sun is both 400 times bigger than the moon and 400 times farther away from the Earth.

Psalm 19:1 The Heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of His hands.

That is true ... sometimes.

"Synchronous rotation! Will eventually happen to the Earth too! It's rotational rate will slow down to eventually match its revolution rate around the sun."
Not necessarily - there are other stable orbits, like Mercury, that has three rotations per two revolutions - where a single Mercury "day" will take two Mercury years. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mercury_%28planet%29#Spin.E2.80.93orbit_resonance
Although a 1:1 relation is more common, there are others..

The most important question is, will I be on the dark side?

Human behavior is primitive, but the bible outlines exactly how a man should live to be at peace with God, the world and himself. There is nothing primitive about that, and in fact, if everyone followed what the bible said there would be peace on Earth today. The knowledge transmitted by Jesus Christ is not primitive compared to modern understanding, it is transcendent of modern understanding. Western civilization owes quite a bit to the bible:

The bible is concerned with Earth because this is the planet God created for us to live. As far as the rest of the Universe goes, we're on a need to know basis.

...and that's how the Space Nazis were able to construct their moon base in secret over the course of ~70 years.

But yeah, when people talk about the "dark" side of the moon, they're talking about the side that never faces us; the concealed side; the side we're "in the dark" about. There's no side of the moon that never sees sunlight, despite what many people will tell you.
