No way this is real. Probably her account or he was quitting anyway to go overseas or something. No one I know would tell their GF/BF a WoW password unless they play it aswell, and if they played chances are they would understand their endless raiding. The guy's reaction was too crazy, there is no way that was real. Who would literally destroy their computer(monitor) as a first reaction? He had to have known it was his girlfriend, no hacker would leave just one character remaining.
The joke is on the girlfriend though, if this is real. He will definately break up with her, and what she doesn't know is that Blizzard can recover deleted characters and items if reported relatively quickly. He could likely get everything back.


I call real, it seems to me like he left the account logged in while popping out for 10 minutes to get a pack of smokes. The reaction is not too extreme as it is (almost) the same as taking the drugs away from a junkie. He left to get some smokes so he could really enjoy his daily fix of MMO and then finds out that the thing he has spent 100's if not 1000's of hours on is gone. The Guildmates, the relationships, the standing in that "tribe", the epic loot that took 52 runs of a hardcore raid to get and so on is all gone. Some people value their online personas more than their RL ones as their online ones might be respected high standing members of a society and their opinions matter, which might not be true in RL.

The primal response to all bad things in life is violence. Ergo kill monitor.

The joke is not on the GF as she could face charges for unlawfully tampering with somebody else's computer system and destroying data (there is probably a fancy legal term but I can't be bothered to look it up now). Heck he could also probably sue for emotional damage, and get a new computer screen, and probably win too as she was dumb enough to record what she did and state reasons for it, premeditated/shows intent... and she posted it online, increases the emotional trauma of the victim.

It's actually fairly easy to get the characters / items back, but it does take time for Blizzard to process the requests. Usually used by people getting hacked.

It seems that just about any and every video nowadays is subjected to this borderline paranoid scepticism. Why is it so hard for people to believe that this could be real? Why is it so difficult to accept that?

I totally believe it's real. Why the hell is that girl with him then? That is what is truly idiotic if you ask me. She obviously knew his reaction would probably be violent, if she hates how much time he spends on the game AND he is prone to violence, WHY THE HELL IS SHE WITH HIM?!?! It could be real because the guy could be addicted to WoW so badly he could have asked his girlfriend to mend his characters for him while he couldn't and give his password away. It could be real because anyone with such massive anger issues is probably violent towards his spouse/partner and needs a lesson.

It could be fake because people are craving celebrity so much they're ready to pretend their kid flew off in some balloon just to get on TV.

Looks like he probably realized it was her, and chose to take it out on the monitor and chair rather then the wall or door, in what looks like a rental...or worse yet her. Hopefully those two aren't together, she obviously had no respect for him, and he wouldn't have been so withdrawn into WOW land if he really gave a crap about being with her. Sorry, I just have to say that from experience.

Real, I'm a gamer. I smashed my mouse and broke it when shit happens. Well, mouse is very cheap though, lol. After spending hours game play, building your reputation, achieving many cool stuff, some characters which built nicely and become famous can worth thousands of dollars (if you decide to sell someday). This part most people don't understand, Gamers can sell their characters or even earn money from the game, their equipment and worth some money.

It's normal reaction, it looks like he was controlling his anger, he rather break his monitor then break the fat bitch's head, she's lucky that he doesn't put all his anger to her. which means, he was still in control and think logically. As a boyfriend he felt betrayed, after he trusted her so much with what he like the most. As a man he felt she has spit on his ego. Well, she just has blew off all of his respect and trust towards her. Psychologically, it's normal.

She's the one who should go to the shrink by acting like this
