Giant Snowball in Britain

The snowball started life when a handful of people began pushing it around the heath.

As it grew in size and weight strangers lent a hand, struggling to push it to the brow of the hill before setting it free.

A comment posted on YouTube with footage of the snowball described it as 'a huge group effort by random strangers on Hampstead Heath [which] helped to produce a super-massive snowball that was eventually pushed down the hill after much protestation from the safety police.'

Yes snow in England is a big deal. Our climate is pretty mild. Very changeable weather as in we often get all types of weather within a 20 minute period, but very mild compared to the rest of the world. Sometimes snow may fall for a few minutes and then that's all you see in a year. The rest of the world laughs at us when we have to cancel trains and shut schools and universities after 3 or 4 inches of snow. But apparently we don't have the infrastructure to deal with it. The last time I can remember snow like this is more than 10 years ago.
We're running out of salt/grit to put on the roads and the whole of London's bus services were down on Monday or Tuesday.
Anyway, it's just a park (in London) and yes people are out because of the snow.

I was puzzled as i was imagining that in the northern regions and mountains (like ski slopes) there'd be lots of snow, so the novelty of it would have worn off on people.

Basically you guys rock, life gives you snow, you make snowballs!
