poolcleanersays...mas8705, Telltale Games is keeping this genre alive! They make episodic adventure games, just like Valve did with HL2. And it's not just Sam & Max, they are currently developing Strong Bad and Wallace & Gromit adventures! It's story/puzzle innovation over graphics.

I attended their panel at the 2008 Comic-Con in San Diego and it was spectacular!
Steve Purcell, the creator of Sam & Max was there, talking about how he's had a lot of creative control over both the game AND the ol' television show.
The Brothers Chaps were not there, but many of the game creators were there, and the demo of the upcoming Strong Bad adventure game will blow away any Homestar Runner (http://www.homestarrunner.com) fans. Hint, hint -- the King of Town as a tyrannical leader of the Municipality and the Poop Smith as the secret police.
The Wallace & Gromit demo was neat too, displaying an in-game example of the crazy contraptions we've come to expect from Wallace.
I'm a HUGE fan of all three of these franchises; if it wasn't for the J. Michael Straczynski Q&A, I would say this was the best panel at Comic-Con 2008.

Sometimes I hate you, Siftbot.

antsays...Is there more? I dislike adventure games, but I love watching!
Aemaethsays...Upvote for Sam and Max, but it's too bad they kind of skipped a lot of the story.
