FLIP ship half sunken research vessel

The FLIP research vessel operates in either a standard horizontal position or a half sunken vertical position. The innards and crew quarters are all designed to accommodate either orientation. The vertical position makes the ship much more stable in rough seas and allows for more delicate research.
