Pretty sure its a Kiwi add for instant lotto tickets.

I've seen the same scenario (sans lotto ticket) in either a movie or TV show before as well.

I think this is based on a real life event, or perhaps an urban myth. It's also done in the movie Slackers.

Kiwi's don't refer to NZ as downunder, that's reserved solely for Australia. But according to the discription of the channel here on videosift downunder covers Oceania, so it qualifies. We just get lumped in together.

This was an urban myth back when I was in college.

I'm pretty sure students around the world repeat this one to each other lifting up some imaginary student to some epic levels of god-hood.

Ah, this video is so very old, I think I saw it the first time about 6 years ago.
