newtboyInteresting and pretty, but does it get many visitors out there in the Sahara?
I thought it looked best from above, not walking through as intended.
oritteropoAlso in Africa, in the remote deserts of Niger and a bit over 1000 kms away, is another desert sculpture. The monument to Flight 772 was designed to be visible from overhead, from passing aeroplanes, and is also visible in Google Maps at 16°51′53.748″N 11°57′13.362″E.

draak13I wish they would have justified its existence somewhere in there. It's so arbitrary as it's presented here.
The desert sculpture described by @oritteropo at least is meaningful, and is a memorial for a plane that was the victim of terrorism...though interestingly, generating that sculpture cost its creator his marriage and his career.
Stop making sculptures in the sahara!
