Daniel Suarez: The kill decision shouldn't belong to a robot

If you haven't read any of Danny's books, this might just ruin your day. Welcome to the world of anonymous warfare and autonomous robotic weapons -- with you and me on the receiving end of it.

"As a novelist, Daniel Suarez spins dystopian tales of the future.

But on the TEDGlobal stage, he talks us through a real-life scenario we all need to know more about: the rise of autonomous robotic weapons of war. Advanced drones, automated weapons and AI-powered intelligence-gathering tools, he suggests, could take the decision to make war out of the hands of humans."

Asimovs laws should NOT be broken, i'tll bite the hands that created them first.. Any robot that does so has to be destroyed, Now, when they are not sentient, it's a simple thing to do, there are not ethical questions. When they do become self-aware, it's different ball-game.

But the decision can never be put into the hands of a robot to begin with. It’s always, always, always going to be in the hands of a human no matter how complex the mechanism (including semi-autonomous drones).
