The more I see of Savage, the more impressed I am. Articulate, clear, and with a completely uncommon degree of common sense...he's interesting enough to make me wish I was gay (much like Melissa Etheridge makes me wish I was lesbian).

the centuries of marriage = female submission.
and the VERY recent paradigm shift.

Marriage is an outdated institution, which only exists as a remnant of the dark ages, where women where slaves. It should just be dismantled altogether.


There are good things tied to marriage -- Visitation rights and certain tax credits, for instance. One can make a decent case for placing those things in the realm of civil unions, but the word and concept of "marriage" is pretty powerful.
