Tip of the day: Don't try to run from the cops at a giant boulder park next to a dangerous icy river. Odds are it will end in epic fail and a police dog hot on your trail!

That's because when a taser is used in the right way, it's never news worthy or as hilarious, therefor it doesn't make it's way to the net.
This was HILARIOUS, though, and fatty should be glad the cop was wielding a taser and not a firearm. Before tasers, any cop would have right to use lethal force.
therealblankmansays...^ Yup, absolutely right on both counts. These cops did everything right, and this dummy is really lucky to be alive after reaching for a gun in his waistband. I'm glad this was caught on film for exactly the same reasons I'm really glad when other cops get caught on film abusing their authority.
csnel3says...That is some pretty good video of the whole event. Maybe the cops staged this. They really needed something like this right about now. Portland police are getting to be known as killers and thugs these last few years. Jesse Jackson was here last month to look into their latest killings.
Probobly gave a tweaker a toy gun and told him to run or they would kill him. Now maybe they will get to keep all the shiny new Tazers that they were in jeapordy of losing.
TheSofaKingsays...No question the taser saved this dirtbag's life. Oh joy. The officer had both the taser and his firearm ready and he had every right to drill this loser the second his hands went for the object in his waistband. Thank goodness he will live to carjack another day
wax66says...Proper and fully justified use of the tazer. Good cop, I'd like to buy you a donut.
JAPRsays...Yay for good cops.
jiyanibisays...Interesting. I guess I assumed the fact that he was soaking wet would cause the charge to be amplified somehow, but now that I actually think about it, I suppose water only helps conduct the charge. Since he already is his own conductor, the water doesn't make it any worse. Science...it works, bitches.
TickleMyElmosays...The gun would have been the better option. When your opponent goes for a lethal weapon, you don't counter with a less-than-lethal option. The cop was extremely generous.

If only all taser use was this warranted.
Pushkillsays...This all started a few blocks from my house!
