Car Runs on H20

it's not fast... but it will get you there cheap.

Unless they invented new physics/chemistry this has to be fake. It takes energy to remove hydrogen from water.

I checked the website and it shows a perpetual motion hydrogen fuel cell.
H20 -> 2 H+ + 0(2-)+ extracted energy -> 2 H+ + 0(2-) -> H20

Unless my chemistry is wrong there is extra energy in that equation from nowhere. The company says that there is no external energy input. Just add water to the catalyst fuel cell.

This is absolutely fake.

It is a new form of electrolysis, pupportedly a lot more efficient and using nowhere near the same ammounts of rare-earth elements that existing tech uses to extract hydrogen from water.

It is not over unity / perpetual motion etc...it takes energy to get it going, and needs water to keep it going, just the same as a conventional car. Water is consumed in the process.

It is indeed real.

You could use the same argument as to why GM and the California Energy Dept. and the US Federal Govt. canned the EV1 production in the later 90's.

"Ahh its gotta be fake if the car manufacturers dont wanna support it!!!"

Think about that for a min..

Even if it takes a little extra energy from another source get going, who cares? The overall benefit is still there. It's also hard to get a complete picture off one video and Wiki article. I'd like to see what comes of this.

Warning: this is going to sound really dumb.

A liter of water only takes you 50 miles? Wow. I thought you could get much better "water mileage" from these sorts of hydrogen powered systems.

There is potential to go a lot further, but hydrogen cars are just so goddamn inefficient to begin with.
Anything that requires you to burn another substance, you will only get MAX ~30% efficiency out of the system, and thats assuming you arnt losing energy due to friction / sound / heat generation elsewhere in the system.

Dont get me wrong, heat is one of the most efficient energy transfer mechanisms we have, but to get the "fuel" to a point where it can become hot enough to do work is where we run into trouble.

Im absolutley shocked that there really arnt more electric cars on the road, they are virtually 90% efficient, as their "fuel" is already in a state that can do work....electricity!! No need to convert matter into energy, youve already got it.

Back when people were spending 98 cents for a gallon of gas? Car companies didn't give a shit about economy. Now? That's their biggest selling point.

charliemsays...

You kidding me ?
They are still selling SUV's like fucking hotcakes.

Theres a real image problem with cars today, too many people prefer large cars for the safety factor alone, when they dont realise that small cars can be just as, if not safer than a big honkin SUV.
