BoneRemakesays...19 kids ! thats
pathetica lot of labouringI am shocked and appalled.
siftbotsays...Tags for this video have been changed from 'Real Time, Bill Maher, New Rules, Republicans, large families' to 'Real Time, Bill Maher, New Rules, Republicans, large families, whoops, dick in me' - edited by MrFisk
MrFisksays...Stole Doug Stanhope's joke.
xxovercastxxsays...How does one even have 19 kids? I mean the only way I've ever carried a child is when I used to hold my baby sister, but last I heard it's pretty hard on the mother's body. 19 pregnancies seems like something that ought to be fatal.
campionidelmondosays...19 kids? That's beyond selfish, that's insane!
Xaxsays...The Bristol Palin stuff was funny. I was thinking the same thing when I read today she was saying her virginity was "stolen" from her. Really, you were raped, Bristol? Cut the shit... get real and don't pay attention to the condemners... move on.
But attacking large families... really, Bill?
Ryjkyjsays...I respect the Duggers for at least being able to support their children, because having a large family is their life goal. But I absolutely think that overpopulation needs to be the foremost thing on our mind. If we could cut the amount of children we have down to a minimum, you'd see almost every other problem we worry about go away.
kymbossays...Man, there were several laugh out loud moments in that set.
Solid.
shinyblurrysays...You could take the entire population of the earth and fit it in the state of Texas with as much room as people have in New York City. Private consumption accounts for something over 20 trillion dollars every year. The richest 20 percent of the world account for 86 percent of that. The poorest 20 percent account for 1.3 percent. The problem isn't overpopulation or lack of resources, its greed. There is more than enough to go around, it's that the people who have the most money don't want to share it with the people who don't. This stupid rant about the size of families has nothing to do with why there is such gross disparity in this world.
Ryjkyjsays...I can't disagree with you about greed shiny. It's disgusting that people care so little about the world they live in and the people they refuse to share it with.
But believe me, the state of Texas is huge, and there are plenty of places in it that you wouldn't want to live. Just because there's a seemingly infinite amount of money does not mean that there's an infinite amount of resources, or space. And when does it become too much for the Earth to bear? I sometimes wonder if we haven't crossed a threshold already.
One thing's for sure. There is absolutely no logical reason at all to keep expanding the Earth's population like we are.

What are your sources for these numbers and "facts" ?
messengersays...Let's assume all shinyblurry said is true. The fact is that with health advances, we are living longer, and our population is going to continue to grow. Also, we, members of the 20% who consume everything, aren't going to change our lifestyle to the point where it makes a large enough impact on world resources supply. We may do easy things that cost us nothing, like recycling and changing to better lightbulbs, but just about nobody is going to accept a significantly lower standard of living and comfort level by giving up cars, AC, flying, farmed meat, etc. as the price for saving the planet. People who are already used to a certain standard and lifestyle are not going to give it up until it's illegal, and won't support any politicians who would make it so.
So any numbers about Texas mean nothing as long as there's no public will to slow our roll. And frankly, I bet the public would favour going to war first.
Paybacksays...Once we have humanity all bottled up in our Texas-sized Manhattan analogue, gang warfare, terrorism and ramapant viral plagues should get us down to a managable size...
