Backflip Takedown Defense

Kid does a backflip into his own takedown shot to avoid his opponents single leg. Pretty impressive.

never really understood the american thing with wrestling... to me ( a european) it just looks a bit... well.. gay!

Hmmm Although i don't like the wrestling style, netean is referring to IMO (with the guys dressed like pinadas, WWF etc.), still wrestling as shown in this video IS pretty popular at least in Germany. The big difference is: One is made of 100% show, the other is real competition.

Well i can see how some can see it looking abit gay, but if you cant ground fight even a little (90% of fights go to the ground) your dog meat. BTW if thats gay to you, then check out turkish wresting, they oil up and a legit move is shoving your hand down your opponets pants in the crotch area!

So are you making a distinction between collegiate wrestling and Greco-Roman wrestling and calling the minor technical differences in the American's style gay or did you not realize that the forms are very similar and both of them are derived from the same European form?

or did you just wanna throw in the fact that YOU'RE European and therefore not as "gay" as American's
...yea I think it's the last one too

What T-man said -- very staged. You wouldn't get control of someone's leg like that and just stand there holding it, especially considering the speed and skills they have.

Well, I don't think it's a case of physical reflexes - this looks like a high school competition and it might be 'Ok, I've got him, I've - wait, is he upside down? Welp, never seen that one before.'.

You ever had a bar fight against a greco-wrestler netean and kulpim? Not so gay when you got your neck folded and gasping for oxygen.

They mean business!

Um, you guys only say this because you've probably never wrestled in your lives. Anybody who's ever hopped to a single leg knows the feeling of wanting to flip as your center of gravity begins to rise and tip backwards. The backflip defense isn't particularly a well-accepted move, but it's not exactly unheard of either. And these kids are, what, in middle school? The guy can't finish the single leg quickly because Olympians have trouble doing it on opponents their own skill level. Jeez, this place is starting to sound like Youtube. Don't call fake if you have no idea know what you're talking about.
